We continue our look at Full Gear basics with one of my favorite decisions: Flared or Not Flared.
This is what makes breeches look like breeches as opposed to pants. That flare on the thigh. It comes in all shapes and sizes.. some subtle, some ridiculously balloon like. And it's all a matter of your own personal taste. I am a huge fan of the flare. They were originally created to allow for horsemen to have freedom of movement in their legs as they rode their mighty steed. I use them for the same reason.. (Do I really even need to add a winky face here for you to figure that one out?) So here are 100 pics of various sizes, shapes, styles of flared breeches. These are the kind of thing you generally have custom made. It's better that way. And you get it suited to your own style. I suggest you also look at the website for VK79.com for some prime examples.. He is a master of the flared breeches. Another popular choice is the Langlitz Rangers. But any leatrhermaker should be able to make just the right pair for you. So sit back.. and Enjoy. |
