The celebration of Black Leather History Month
has spilled over into a second month. (Why not extend it? I did just make up this holiday after all...) But this month, let's chronicle some of the real landmarks of Black Leather History. First up: International Mr. Leather (IML) Probably the most recognized contest in the leather community. Sure, they may be sash queens.. but they are real history makers too. (And some damn good looking men among them.) Check out the galleries and more on this site, and you can actually go back to the first IML in 1979 right up to the present. Next: Colt Studios Probably the best known photography studio for Leather and Muscle. No one has created more icons that you've jerked off to than Colt. They've always known exactly how to do it right - This is the classic and enduring look of the Leather Man. Finally: Photographer Jim Wigler Probably the first name you think of in leather photographers. The man made history with his cover photos and pictorials in Drummer Magazine. And probably has more legendary leather photographs than any other kink photographer. Some of the most iconic pictures in our history.. are his. So do a little reflecting on your past, And celebrate Black Leather History Month... |
